THE DIAMOND OF SUCCESS... Own The Diamond

At the K-Zone Academy, we believe that in order to be successful, you must possess four key elements.  These elements are Honest Assessment, Positive Thought, Commitment and Dynamic Action. We refer to this as
“The Diamond of Success” .

HONEST ASSESSMENT.  This is the most important element of the diamond of success.
In order to make the improvements necessary to be successful, we need to assess our
current abilities. If we are not honest in this assessment, then we will be hindering our
ability to be successful. If we tell ourselves something that is not true, we won’t do
anything to address it. Furthermore, because we know that it is not true
(we can’t lie to ourselves) it will act like a barrier to our success impacting our thoughts
and actions negatively. Therefore, we must be honest in our assessment.  An important
aspect in this assessment is measuring our abilities. Fortunately for us, there are many
ways to measure our performance.
The more objective and applicable the measurements are the better.

POSITIVE THOUGHT.  The next step in our process is developing a plan to address the areas we want to improve.  Here is where
we lay the ground work or foundation for our actions.  It’s important that we frame this plan in a positive way such that our focus is
on what
we want to accomplish, not what we are trying to fix.  For example, if we want to “cut down on our strikeouts”, one way
we could formulate this thought/plan is “to make more consistant contact”.  This places our focus on hitting the ball and not missing it.
From here, we would construct even more specific thoughts from which we could assign specific drills or lessons to support this goal.

COMMITMENT.  A definplan, we need to make a commitment. Before we begin taking action, we must have the conviction to follow it through. This comes from an unwavering commitment to yourself. There will be many challenges and obstacles along our path to success.  These challenges or "walls" are there to keep out the people that don't want it badly enough.  If you want it badly enough, are committed enough you will find a way around the walls.  With the proper commitment you are now ready for the final step.

DYNAMIC ACTION.

Once we have our plan, we must execute it. This means that we take very strong, positive and directed actions
toward our goals.  This is where the rubber meets the road, where hard work and determination come into play.  This is the most visible
aspect of our journey to success.  The first three aspects of the diamond can take place completely in our mind.  Dynamic
Action is the physical manifestation of the first two elements. We must do; not just think about doing.

The “DIAMOND OF SUCCESS” is only complete with all four of these elements.  It is an on going process that requires consistent
application for maximum results.  We must continually assess our progress so that we can determine if we are getting closer to
our goals.  If we don’t assess, then we don’t know.  What if our plan (albeit well thought out) is off and we are training the wrong way?
Our assessments will tell us this.  What if we aren’t putting in the time and effort necessary to acheive our goals?  Our assessments
will tell us this too.  Using this process allows us to have structure to our thoughts and actions.  This structure leads to results that
develop our confidence.  Confidence is something that we obtain from our accomplishments, not the other way around.  When we are
confident in ourselves, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.  Confidence is the key and the “Diamond of Success” provides
the path to obtaining the key.

To have success on the diamond, OWN THE DIAMOND.
