NCSU PITCHER, Will GilbertUPDATE: DRAFTED
"I have been working out at the KZone Academy for 5 years now. It has been highly effective in elevating my skills from a regular high school pitcher to an ACC pitcher. Through intense, explosive, dynamic full-body work outs and proper motivation I have been able to increase my max velocity by 24 mph in the 5 years. Dan’s high energy, positive personality combined with his extensive knowledge of the biomechanics involved in baseball make the K-Zone an easy place to get better. Everyone at K-Zone is always competing with each other to see who can set new records for themselves in the various work outs. Between the positive atmosphere and the innovative work outs the K-Zone is a perfect fit for me to pursue my dreams of playing in the MLB."

I would like to thank Dan for allowing me to Train at the K-Zone Academy for most of my professional career. In my opinion Dan and the K-Zone Academy are the premier training facility in the Raleigh area. The K-Zone combines new age technology with an old school, work hard to get results philosophy. Many instructors rely on what they can see to help players improve. At the K-Zone everything is recorded so players have concrete data to show how they are improving when it comes to throwing velocity and ball exit speed.
Another reason why I believe the K-Zone Academy is the best place to improve your baseball skills is because of how thorough Dan is when it comes to Athletic Training. I can personally attest that he caters workouts based on players individual needs. He identifies where mobility deficiencies are while helping players to address and improve those areas which translate to increased athletic ability and a higher ceiling for development.
If you are serious about playing baseball at a high level I recommend checking out the K-Zone Academy. The amount of skilled players that work out there help to push you to new heights with a positive and competitive vibe.

"The K-Zone has really helped me to develop into a Division I college baseball player. Dan Kopitzke is extremely knowledgable in the physical as well as the mental aspects of the game of baseball.
He has prepared me by constantly challenging me to always strive to improve and push myself to be the best I can be.
His conditioning programs not only strengthen the whole body, but they also help with the prevention of injuries.
His energy and desire to help athletes is second to none. I can't thank Dan enough for what he has done for me. "
"Jonathan has thoroughly enjoyed the program and looked forward to it each week. On a personal note I want you to know I think you have an outstanding program that is unmatched from what we have both seen and experienced.

"I’ve been working out at K-zone for 2.5 years going on 3 years. When I got cut from the Green Hope summer team as a rising 9th grader, I decided to do something about it and went to Kzone. Coach Dan worked me harder and harder since the first day I got there. My hitting performance has gone up drastically from 70 mph to 91.5 mph. The athletic training has physically developed me to be a stronger and better baseball player. The K-zone is my home away from home. I was one of the youngest to be on K-zone’s first team and playing with people older and more experienced than me has really improved my skills as a baseball player. Cam Lengyel, athlete
"Reid is so much stronger and sure of himself, we couldn't thank you enough for his improvement and the work ethic that you seem to instill in these young men - pure magic! Keep up the good work and as always, thank you for your time and dedication." -parent
"Dan, Your hitting stance instruction has made a 100% difference for Cody, he almost hit two over in first tournament and one was a line drive that literally stuck in the fence. And i told Grant about it and caught his back toe towards the catcher a lot. He was having trouble catching up to the pitch, and your instruction fixed almost immediately.. You da boss!
"I just wanted to thank you for all that you have taught me. I will work on these drills at home to keep improving. The days that I was going to K-Zone were the days I always looked forward to! I just wanted to thank you for this great learning experience!"
"I wanted to take a minute to drop you a quick note about something I saw tonight at K-Zone. A kid was a partner in v-flex with a kid who was clearly pretty new to KZone. The new kid was struggling, but the experienced player did a GREAT job giving him tips & encouraging him the whole time. It's nice to see the players get better at baseball, but even more important to see them become better young men. That attitude is something that I know that you would like to hear about & praise at K-Zone. "
"Dan, thought you would like to know what your student has to say, when asked about K-Zone.
Baseball Coach: Case, you train at KZone, right?
Case: Yes Sir.
Baseball Coach: You like it?
Case: Yes Sir, I love it, it's my home away from home."
"I am sure that I don't say it enough but we really enjoy having Logan work with you and more than anything appreciate the kindness, support, and commitment that you have working with him."
Hi Coach Dan,
"The hitting lessons I took from you over the winter have really paid off. Last year I hit mostly singles and doubles. This season the first inning of the first game I hit a home run off the first pitch! In the second game I got a triple. And on Friday I hit a grand slam!!!! Thank you for helping me be a better baseball player!"
"I want to let you know how happy I am with Kevin’s progress after the summer sessions. He has improved his flexibility big time and gotten very physically strong, but the part that I'm most impressed with in the program is how he has grown mentally. I’ll put it this way, before the program he was just a little boy that wanted to get better at baseball. After the program he is a more mature teenager and he is more committed about the game of baseball. Thanks"-parent
"Wednesday night has become Jesse's favorite night of the week. He's gone from fairly average to one of the best players on his team in the last 8 weeks. Thank you so much." -Parent
"The difference you make to the students at K-Zone is a function of both your extensive expertise in developing baseball performance and in your authentic passion for helping these young men go beyond the limits of what they think they can do. Thank you for all the work you had to do to develop it in yourself and then for sharing it! All the best." -parent
"If you want to go to the next level and perform well, I suggest you take a look at what Dr. Dan has got to offer .Dan is an excellent instructor. I personally played beyond college for a short time. When I accidentally ran into the K-Zone with my older son and saw what it has to offer - well all I have to say is I sure wish Dr. Dan was around when I was younger. "-Coach/Parent
Matt was “stupid good” this past weekend. His stats were off the charts. He will have to tell you on Friday. I could tell you but it would be too much like bragging. Thanks," -Parent
The Pitcher's Boot camp introduced the concepts and training techniques that have proven effective in developing more complete and healthy pitchers. Over the course of the three day camp, players were taught the essential elements that should lead to greater velocity, improved core body strength, and increased flexibility. The players also learned proper arm care in order to reduce the chance of injury. The camp integrated the why and the how. First, the players learned the reasons for the various training and then they went through the drills. The sessions were well designed and blended the right amount of learning and doing. Coach Dan, I thought you nailed it. Timmy and Brian were invigorated and sore by Sunday afternoon. The boys had a great time and wanted to get up and go every day. The days were long, they said they went fast and had lots of fun." -parent
"Jordan had a total hitting analysis done with Video that measured bat speed and ball velocity as well as hitting zone accuracy. Dan quickly pointed out several things Jordan could improve upon in his swing. I was very impressed.parent
"The individualized coaching, personal development and group dynamics are some of the intangibles at the K-zone." -parent
"Hi Dan and Natalie,
Dave is so proud of himself! He's consistently hitting to the outfieldor hitting the ball REAL hard. He hit one back to the pitcher a couple of weeks ago and it hurt the kid's hand! His confidence at the plate is enormous. He got called out on strikes the other day and wasn't even upset, because he knew the ump was wrong and the ball was way outside. So, thanks so much for all your coaching, it has made a huge difference in David's whole approach.
I wanted to thank you for all the work and care you contributed to Andrew and Austin this spring. Ending June on personal bests was great! Both are clearly becoming better ball players and developing a greater love baseball out of the time they have spent with you."-parent
I wanted to reach out to you and let you know how impressed I am with the progress that my son, Michael has made. I truly owe that all to you. Not only has he improved, you have made the whole learning experience fun for him as well. As a dad and a coach myself I can appreciate your method of training. It not only works and prepares him for baseball, it also instills real valuable lessons that he can use outside of baseball.
What I appreciate the most is your efficient and direct approach, while it allows to players to exceed, it only does so if they have earned it. This teaches the kids that they need to work hard in order to achieve what they want. You have proven to me over and over that the amount of knowledge you have is far more that I have ever seen (and yes, I have verified some of the information from some of our conversations). There really is not an area of training or baseball that you do not know. This kind of experience is what makes you extremely successful at what you do.
Another aspect of about K-Zone that I like is how everyone there is a team player, and how the older kids are mentors to the new students. This is an enormous factor in getting the kids to the next level. There is not a day that goes by, when someone is not helping each other getting one more rep, taking the extra stride in sprints, or hitting the ball further. This is all due to your unique style of training\coaching. You make it a point to get everyone involved and help each other out.
K-Zone is not just a baseball training facility; we consider it our home away from home. Michael really looks forward to going, and is extremely excited about it each day. This has become his number one activity, and has taken his attention away from gaming (which is a plus for me). Not only is Michael getting the necessary tools to help him reach his achievements, he has also found a place with new friends.
Once again Coach Dan I would like to thank you for all that you have done, it is because of people like yourself that gives baseball players the opportunity to become great! I look forward to a long and meaningful relationship.

"Working out at the K Zone Academy with Dan Kopitzke has been an absolutely beneficial experience to my professional baseball career.
The K Zone provides highly athletic workout programs that are specifically tailored to each individuals personal physical assessments.
My first day at the academy; areas of weakness in my functional strength were evaluated and corrective exercises were provided to help me fix these weaknesses. I was then given a workout program that was specifically designed to improve my physical capabilities on the field.
The K Zone's high intensity, core targeted workouts improved my athleticism immediately. I noticed greater core strength, speed, agility, mobility, and gained overall muscle with a month of hard work at the
K-Zone Academy. The K Zone has also given me a new insight of the true bio mechanics of throwing a baseball. Video technology, deceleration drills, weighted balls, and the concept of staying connected helped me understand and fine-tune my pitching mechanics. The K Zone offers workout programs and mechanical evaluations that many professional baseball teams have yet to discover.
Every hour spent with Dan at the K Zone has directly benefited to gained velocity and mechanical efficiency on the mound."

"Dan – I appreciate your dedication to your teaching and your very obvious dedication to your students. They are indeed very fortunate to have you. I am glad to finally get to see your fantastic facility. It is indeed a Jedi training heaven. Thank you for being a big part of our dream of a network of great facilities that test/train/improve players of all levels."

"I have seen the program at K-Zone first hand and I am thoroughly impressed. Dan is a true teacher and he has developed a dynamic system for improving baseball ability. He is a leading authority on maintaining arm health, improving arm speed and efficiency, and increasing bat speed. If you are serious about training to gain an edge on your competition and to reach your full potential, I highly recommend the process that Dan will introduce to you at the K-Zone"

"I travel and speak all over the country. I consult for 19 diferent Academies, 2 different MLB organizations, 7 DI programs and advise literally hundreds of High School, Junior College and DI, DII and DIII Universities. Over the past 5 years I have been invited to 10 different Spring Trainings, had 41 of my athletes drafted and over 80 reach the 90mph plateau. You could say I see it ALL. The good, the bad and the ugly.
Dan Kopitzke and the K-Zone in Apex NC..is in the top 5% of all that I see in the USA in pitching instruction. Bottom line....Dan 'gets it'. He understands the connection between athleticism, mechanical efficiency, mobility/flexibility, functional & skill specific strength, scapular health and strength balance...and nutrition/rest/recovery...and how it relates to enhancing or improving the performance of those in his charge.
The ultimate compliment I can ever give an instructor is 1) to invite him to assist me at the Texas Baseball Ranch in our Elite Pitchers Boot Camps and 2) That if I lived in the area...my 13 year old son would train there if I was away. Both are true of Dan. There are less than 20 people in the world I would allow to actually train my son. One is Brent Strom the special pitching coordinator for the St. Louis Cardinals, one is Flint Wallace the former pitching Coach at TCU and current pitching coach for JC powerhouse Weatherford College...and one is Dan Kopitzke. So Dan may not be in a class by himself...but it sure doesn't take long to call roll.
On top of Dan's skills, the K-Zone and Dan are lucky to have such wonderful support as the beautiful and gracious Natalie. Her warmth and sincere desire to help and support the process was almost as impressive as Dan's teaching skills. Together they make a great team. In today's uncertain society, full of contradictions and irresponsibility, it is very important to surround your young man with good solid people. Possibly nothing could be more important than that. Dan & Natalie are wonderful in that regard. I highly reccomend, Dan, Natalie and the K-Zone."

"From our first meeting it was apparent that Dan has an in-depth understanding of baseball analytics and, more importantly, the skill set to effectively translate that data into performance enhancing instruction to each of his players. Utilizing this unique talent, Dan has been instrumental in the continued development of the HitTrax System as he has not only helped define key metrics but he has also conceived new concepts that undoubtedly add value to the system on multiple levels – heightening instruction while at the same time providing a competitive and fun experience for his players."
I am proud to say that our association with Dan Kopitzke and the K-Zone Academy extends well beyond the typical manufacturer/customer relationship. We are truly proud to call Dan a valued member of our company."
"I first met Dan in Houston at the Texas Baseball Ranch, so I had a good idea he was a “think outside the box” kind of guy. Even with these expectations, Dan surprised me with the amount of innovation he incorporates into the K-Zone Academy workout program. From the creative variations using the exercise bands on his player’s hands and feet to the innovative arm care exercises his players performed, it is without question that his students were thoroughly warmed up and prepared to throw by the time a baseball was picked up.
Dan’s ability to make every activity a challenging competition among students while recording their performance makes his K-Zone Academy a great place to train. Players are able to constantly push themselves and break records thereby becoming better athletes. The competitive, game-like atmosphere, detailed measuring/recording system, and superior throwing and training drills is what allows athletes at the K-Zone Academy to make sizeable gains in their baseball abilities."
